Day 9: Shocking the Rivers

We went shocking the fishes in the river today! Brian took us to Tsimikin River in the Spokane Reservation  We were in waders so we weren't getting fully exposed to the cold water. We were carrying this heavy electrical backpack thing that had a shocker stick on it but as I will continue to emphasize it was heavy :c
Before we arrived to the river.
Alexis gracefully looking like a swan...
or land dolphin... yeah.
Given inability to swim walking upstream with nets with a wader, taking note that it was letting in water in one of my boots, was an experience in itself and carrying the heavy electrical backpack thing with the shocker rod when it was my turn. Total Amount of Times Fell In: Idk 4?
There was a butterfly stuck under rock and I saved it ^^
Me leaning on this log that I refused to
sit on to avoid embarrassing myself.

We were shocking the fish to take measurements of them and also tagging them, at least that was the objective we didn't really catch any needed fish given the heavy electrical backpack thing was glitching out on us and absolutely refused to run an electrical current for more than three seconds. It was on strike at it's constant use, it didn't earn enough money so it went on strike, the denial of getting a raise of salary (or there lack of) put it over the edge. Because of that we still had to continue hiking
The aftermath of Glacier Lake Missoula
The sparrow nest inside the aftermath.
Tadpoles in the pond.
Pictures of when we were hopelessly lost.

Afterwards we got ice cream ^^
